Partner Liu Yulin Lectures on Tax Management in Reorganizations at Weekend Salon
Zhong Lun Law Firm partner Liu Yulin delivered a lecture, titled “Taxation in Corporate Reorganization Transactions", to share his insight on the newly released Circular on Certain Issues Concerning Enterprise Income Tax on Enterprise Reorganization Transactions at the firm’s Weekend Salon in Beijing on June 12, 2009.
With a wealth of experience in taxation and corporate matters, Mr. Liu elaborated on the background information, main contents and other specific issues in connection with the Circular, which was jointly released by the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation on April 30, 2009.
According to the Circular, a corporate reorganization transaction may be granted special treatment, i.e., tax-free or tax-deferral treatment only when it meet certain criteria provided by the circular. Compared to the prior requirement for tax-free organization, the new criteria are more stringent.
