Zhong Lun Organizes Seminar on Int’l Trade Dispute Resolution in Financial Crisis
Zhong Lun Law Firm Wuhan office has successfully held a seminar on international trade dispute resolution against the backdrop of the global financial crisis in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei Province, on April 17, 2009.
The seminar was sponsored by the Hubei Lawyers’ Association and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and organized by Zhong Lun Whuan office, which was set up early this year. Partner Zou Mingchun from Zhong Lun Wuhan office chaired the seminar.
The seminar focused on the challenges and opportunities in the international trade arena for local companies. In particular, participants shared their insights on measures for both outside and in-house counsel to effectively settle international trade disputes in the current financial difficulties.
Key speakers at the seminar included Prof. Ge Huangbin, Head of China Desk with the SIAC, lawyers from Singapore law firms Allen & Gledhill LLP and Rajah & Tann LLP, director of Fair Trade Division of the provincial Department of Commerce, and in-house counsel from local companies. Participants also included deputy secretary general of Hubei Lawyers’ Association and secretary general of Wuhan Lawyers’ Association.
Later after the seminar, Prof. Ge Huangbin, accompanied by Zhong Lun partner Zhang Shuguang, visited Wuhan Intermediate People’s Court and Wuhan Maritime Court and exchanged views on international arbitration practices in the two jurisdictions.
