Mr. Pu Lingchen Gives Lecture to Developing Country Officials on Anti-Dumping Procedures
Mr. Pu Lingchen, a senior partner of our international trade group, recently gave a lecture to a group of developing country officials in Beijing on June 2, at the invitation of the Ministry of Commerce. The lecture, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, provided trade officials of China and other developing countries with an opportunity to discuss the anti-dumping investigation procedures. In the lecture entitled “Transparency and Appropriate Procedures", Mr. Pu shared his knowledge and experiences with trade officials from a number of developing countries that include Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, South Africa and Brazil.
Zhong Lun’s international trade team, one of the largest in China, consists of four partners and eight associates. In 2007, our team represented 32 clients in 15 cases, such as the anti-dumping investigation initiated by Indonesia concerning hot rolled coil, the anti-dumping investigation initiated by Thailand concerning steel wire rod, the anti-dumping and countervailing investigation initiated by Canada concerning certain seamless steel casing and welded pipe, and the appeal process to the EU court on behalf of Chinese leather footwear enterprises. With considerable experience in this field, our team helped clients achieve low/zero anti-dumping duty rates and received high praise from the Ministry of Commerce, the chamber of commerce and the media.
In 2007, retained as the legal counsel of the Ministry of Commerce, Zhong Lun participated in the negotiation of WTO Doha Round about rules of anti-dumping and countervailing and Mr. Pu Lingchen provided supporting legal arguments as an expert consultant.
